What or who inspires you?

I’m most inspired by the love that appears to shower me every day.

Are you more of a poet or a scientist?

I’m neither a poet or a scientist and more of a dreamer.

What was the last book you read?

How have you, or someone you know, been affected by hunger?

I grew up on welfare and food stamps as a kid. My dad would sell the food stamps at 50 cents on the dollar. One thanksgiving, all my dad had was 5 dollars and he bought candy so we would have something on the table. Back then five dollars bought a lot of candy. The scariest feeling is not knowing where your next meal will come from. Those days are long behind me but the memories stay forever.

Why do you believe in TangoTab?

TangoTab is the answer to many problems in America. It allows successful businesses to accomplish what government and others have failed to do.

What is something about hunger/food insecurity that you feel most people don’t know.

Only those who have felt hunger, real hunger, not “Oops I forgot to eat today”, but the pain in your stomach and the fear of not knowing where your next meal is coming from is true hunger. There is no worse feeling in the world.

What is a fact about hunger that you didn’t know until recently?

That more people than you can imagine go hungry right in our own backyard.

Besides TangoTab, how else do you make a difference in your community?

I’m on the board of the SM Wright Foundation and we serve hundreds to thousands of meals per day in the poorest area of Dallas near Fair Park.

What tips do you have for people to eat healthy when they are dining out?

These days it’s rather easy to eat healthier or make better choices when eating out. Phrases such as “grease free”, sauces on the side, no oil or butter, grill, bake, or broil takes seconds to say yet saves you plenty of unwanted calories and fat.
